When in Bicol

I have never been to Bicol, prior to this trip. In fact, despite thorough geography lessons, I have always thought that Bicol is just one big province where the Mayon Volcano is, and where people eat a lot of laing and pili nuts.

Oh boy was I wrong.

This trip, one of my most favorite trips of all, introduced me to the beautiful region that is Bicol and all fantastic cuisine it has to offer--apart from the laing and pili,  I also tried the Sili icecream which slowly explodes in the mouth. I want to go back!

Bigg's Diner is this cool fast food joint in Bicol.
They offer pretty good coffee, reasonably prized meals and the restaurant's vibe is just uber cool! 

This was what I had for breakfast. Opted for bread instead of rice.

These pineapples from Bicol are sweet and soft and you can finish one whole fruit in one sitting
